looks like the DMV used a diff vin than the door post. go to barnes/noble and look up a numbers book or an AD book and they should have VIN info-also try chevs of the 40's website-their info is in my

Steve, states differ on what is considered the VIN on an old truck. Some use the chassis number which should be on a plate riveted to the driver side door pillar. Others use engine number which is on
