The prefix AGCA denotes that the engine is a 216.5 ci "thriftmaster" engine, originally placed in a 1949 3/4 ton pickup. I would say trading a shotgun for a truck is one heck of a good deal. I once k

I cannot find the AGCA prefix, could it possibly be AJCA? If so it is a 1951 216 engine. A better ID is by the block casting number, the '51 216 should be 3835497. Look near the pan rail for numbers

The truck is in extreme northern Arkansas and I am in extreme southern Louisiana so I cannot recheck the AGCA/AJCA potential, but I will ask my dad to recheck and to look for a number along the pan

that's a 49 216 with 10-3/4" clutch in a 3/4 or one ton truck. AHCA is the same for a 1950, and AJCA is the same for a 1951. this is according to the Hollander Interchange Manual. Bob ADler oletruck
