I would go the 250 route. It will be cheaper to rebuild, as some parts interchange with the V8s. But it will require a different motor mount setup and will be more difficult to install. In the end y

I would try to find a 75-79 nova or clone with a 250 L6 and auto tranny, as the rear end is also a good fit, and these cars are available for next to nothing.
