Wayne, Most automatic combos use the three point system, 2 side motor mounts and one trans mount, eliminating all other mountings and crossmembers. I don't remember when, but sometime in the 60's GM

My '57 TF has a 355 small block Chevy and a 700R4 transmission, both installed using the "universal" tubular mounts popularly available for each. Bought new engine mounts (with new rubber insulators)
