Hey Sam, I put a new carb in last week and that seemed to help a little, but the mpg. is still low. Not like the Subaru Justy that my daughter drives. You can measure the miles in "weeks per gallon".

I had a friend in High School with a 60 Chevy 1/2 ton 235 CI. He only got about 10MPG. Look at the rear end if you want to improve it much. My '54 Chevy 3600 only got about 9MPG according to the prev

A lot depends on if you're still running the original rear end gears in the truck. I believe that came with most 3:90 which is fairly steep for todays standard of driving. I have a fairly strong 327
