On mine, the new 12 v gauge read extra full all the time. As someone elsde recently mentioned, the cure is to change the resistor on the sender to 90 ohms. The original 30 ohm resistor lets too much

The other cure for a gauge that reads a little to high or low is to bend those little tabs that the float arm contacts. That will reduce or increase the resistance signal sent to the gauge! elsde ole

Probably wired to wrong teminal on ignition sw. bob ADler oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959

Hi Brad, If it is a modern gauge, it might have an internal circuit breaker which is clicking off when you give it full current through the ignition circuit. That might explain why it registers when

I'd be interested in knowing where you found a 12-volt gas gauge for your truck. I've converted to a 12-volt system, but am running a 6-volt gas gauge with an in-line resistor, but it has never work

the 12 volt gas gauge i have came from american classic truck parts. it's actually a charge guage that apparently is rewired to work as a fuel guage. they sent a decal for the face along with it.....
