- I'm with you, too many cars around here to take up bike-riding as a commute option. I hate to say this, but when and if gas get's to 3 bucks a gallon, I'll still be filling up when the tank gets low.

- on my last trip from St. Louis to Omaha i was getting between 14 and 24 mpg with my stock 54. oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959

- On our trip through the NW states we averaged 17-18 mpg/US at 70 mph in our '48 Chevy with a 350 4bbl./turbo 350. That works out to 23-24 mpg/Canadian gallon, which really isn't that bad. Alan Gingle
