The headliner is kinda made of a fiberboard like material, like very durable cardboard and when I went to remove mine it was semi glued it. I had to carefully pry one corner loose and then just pull

The glue I saw after removal was in spots not completely covering the area, wasn't thick at all. The other 56 I had, the headliner had fallen down and was wavy-never got to take it out before selling

The old ring won't be very pliable and will probably break into pieces when pulled, but yeah should be able to get it out by itself.. --wayne

YES! :) I put a Rod Doors headliner in my truck and when I pulled the old headliner out it was held in with some sort of black adhesive. The stuff was still rubbery in some places and hard as a rock
