I'm sure you will get a variety of opinions on your question. I personally a old truck more than a rod but still wanted to be able to take it on the highway. I also balked at $400 for a ring a pinion

Sounds like you may have done something that I want to look at doing. I have a '50 3600, stock except for the '59 235 engine. I'm not sure if the 4-speed transmission and rear end came with the truc

I know what overdrive is. In fact there have been many times that I have tried to push my shifter up into that "imaginary 5th gear." I just don't know what it would take to install overdrive. Smokey
