- I'm going to go way out on a limb here, but I believe that the front ends were pretty much the same from 41 through 59 (solid axle, leaf springs, single tie rod.) Power steering was an option from 55

- There is a pretty good article in the tech section of chevytrucks.org in which a guy installs power steering on his '56 pickup. He uses a kit from Chevy Duty and a steering box from a '70s Chevy 1/2
