Have any of you heard of using caustic soda to cut rust from metal? I read about it and the article said one treatment of soda followed by a treatment of muratic acid and then soda again. Rinse with

Caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) will cut paint and grease, but will leave rust untouched. Muratic acid (zinc chloride) will cut rust, but can also etch clean metal. Use it sparingly. For my money, th
