I normally just place a floor jack under the center of the rearend to relieve pressure on the springs, remove the center bolt on the rear shackle and then tap the link off of the spring pins. You'll

Unless I am mis-understanding Joe's directions this will not work. "place a floor jack under the center of the rearend" (I assume he means the differential or pumpkin) will still have all the weight
