did this Mike, off the top of my head, if you have 27in tall tires turning 4000rpms at 45MPH, I'd guesstimate you have a high 5:1 rear ratio. I have 29in tall tires on my '59, with the 4.10 original

Jim's correct, I just plugged 7.25:1 and 4060 rpms with 27 in tall tire into a gear calculator, it comes up 45 MPH. Mike oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
