That shifter sure looks easier to use than mine! I have a '53 with a 327 and Saginaw 4sp. The (stock?) Hurst shifter mounts right on to the tailpiece as others have described. Inside the cab, however

My 56 GMC came stock with the Pontiac 316ci V-8, and it has a very strange exhaust system (stock). The drivers side exhaust doesn't exit toward the back, the manifold looks like is installed backward
