I recall reading original BMC Service bulletins circa 1964 indicating that the 1100cc crankshaft had only surface hardened (case hardened) crankshaft main and rod journals. This means that if any mac

In one of the sprite- Midget books I have, I thought it mentions that the 1100 crank as used in them wasn't very strong and the weakest of the several versions. The Cooper crank was better.
