You will get the best power when ignition is timed so that you are just below detonation at higher rpms (3000 - 6000) at full throttle. At this point the distributor should be at max advance. I usual

Thanks. Currently my advance is set at ~20 degrees at 1000 rpm, and I'm not getting any pinging at all even when driving up a hill in fourth. So what this tells me, is that I should probably try adv
