OK, can't do the fuzzy math. How do I make this 1275 a 1380? .040 Overbore? Gonna need new pistons? I got a box full of various SUs and Stomberg Carbs, which came thrown in when I bought my TR 4A yea

I believe that 40 over gives 1312 cc, 20 over = 1293, maybe 60 over gives 1380? Either way, you'll need new pistons. -- __________________________________________________ Jeffrey H. Boatright, PhD As

I believe it's .060 over and the bores need to be offset. Several on the list have done it, so I'm sure you'll get the expert feedback from someone. My impression is (from others experience) that th

1380 requires an offset bore and a template/guide to bolt to the block to keep it from flexing. Don't do it unless you have someone that really knows what he/she is doing. Your average machinist will

.020, .040 or .060 won't give you 1380. You will need 73.5mm pistons and offset boring to achieve the 1380. 74mm pistons will give you 1400cc but not to be recommended for a road car. The offset bori

No, 60 thou is close to 1340cc IIRC. You have to use 73.5mm pitons. Omega and Hepolite pistons are available. You can also get 74mm pistons too. If you ever intend to go from 73.5mm to 74mm, then you

If you want a 1400cc displacement, the Datsun/Nissan 210 motors fit right in with a little motor mount fabrication. It also obviously fits the 5 speed we are all installing in our cars as well. Bill

Many touched on the piston size, it is 73.5mm. The overbore that accepts them is 110 thousandths overbore. Not .040, not .060 but .110! That's a lot of metal to take out, and if you've ever actually

Exactly how thick are the remaining walls? Has any one read about Vizards' solution to thin cylinder walls? Sure it adds a few pounds, but makes up for it by greatly reducing cylinder wall flex.
