I found the trans shifter "boot" its basically a metal deal slanted. In the moss catalog it shows both this, and a vinyl type boot both listed for 1275s. My ? is there a difference between them that

My '67 has them both--there is the metal surround into which fits a rubber "grommet" that seals the opening, through which the shift lever goes. Then over the whole thing is a vinyl boot. --David C.

No no No! Bend the Datsun shifter to fit the metal can the correct way. But because the throw is longer on the jap tranny, you have to use the MGB gaitor. I have tried the stock sprite gaitor but it
