- First.. Yes I will eventually be changing to a 12v system all together. With that said.. is there a good way to trigger a 12v tach in a 6v system? Was thinking about running a 12v battery seperate fo

- A relay will never be fast enough. A transistor would be though. If this is a points type system that will be off the negitive side of the coil then the flyback from the coil will be more than enough
