- Can anyone ID this engine: I think it may be a '76 Triumph Spitfire 1500 engine. I can find the info to figure out the A series engines from their S/N, but not the Tri*mph/Midget 1500 engine. Thanks

- A little further research shows this is Definitely a Midget 1500 engine. FP is MG MIDGET, 60180 is the serial number, UCE is CALIFORNIA EMMISIONS EQUIPPED. Basically exactly the same as the Spitfire

- Did you get an answer to this ? FP = Triumph 1500 engine supplied for MG models (FM for Triumph 1500 engines fitted to Spitfires) The UCE ending indicated supplied to California Detox specifications
