I am in the process of doing prototyping for a Spitfire supercharger project and find myself in need of a 1500 head. Since the stock 1500 head has much larger chambers than the 1300 head, it is an id

How about a thicker head gasket to increase combustion volume?? ....You can calculate the volume you would need to add to your current volume to get the final desired standing compression ratio. Mord

Probably a neat project, but the question of why comes to mind. The Spit engine has technology and metallurgy that dates back to the "Great Flood". Not that I condone it, but why not get a more moder

I fully intend to make you eat your words! I am going to build a complete engine specifically engineered to handle the Supercharger. It will have decreased compression, forged pistons, a cam ground

I am designing it based on the small journal 1300 which as you know is a stronger engine than the later ones. This will be for my autocross car and based on what I learn, I plan to offer a milder bo

That's ok, Russ. I know you're kidding (and in case you're not, I know where you live)! :-) Seriously, though, it's scarier than that. This particular engine series, which extends in design parameter

I think most Supercharger additions actually are done after the owner has already increased the compression and is not satisfied with the results. Sometimes one has to take steps backwards in order t
