- First off, without a valve in the heater line you will not stay cool with the fan off. On my 1500, I just went down to the local hardware store an bought a valve to put inline. Works fine. Instead o

- The heater tap can sometimes be rebuilt. I did mine some time ago, but do not remember the exact procedure I used. If you can disassemble it, all it probably needs is a new "O" ring, available at all

- I haven't tried this, but a mechanic told me that he has seen guys use a brass on/off valve from a plumbing supply aisle. Sounded like a good idea at the time. --David C.
