I have come across a 1725 that the area where the serial number is found is blank, and there is no evidence of it having been removed. My guess is it is a replacement block but that is just a guess.

I thought it was something like that, the block appears to have been painted with a reddish primer only and I have not noticed any other tags with numbers. Was the intent that the dealer would stamp
