Your signals and brake lights are also on the same fuse as the tach/fuel gauge (and sender) Check for a short near the brake light switch. Try to eliminate which circuit it is. See if the fuse blows

My experience is that if the voltage stabiliser goes the instruments go haywire rather than fuses blow, but your problem may be different from mine. In the UK at least, if the petrol tank is going to
