I am having a problem with my 1977 MGB retrofitted with Dual SU HIF-4's. About a month ago, I gave my car a good tune up: new NGK plugs, wires, cap and rotor, the carburetors where running a little

First question: Is your running-on control valve hooked up and operational? I have a 77B and it ran on very slightly, then I hooked up the running-on control valve and it happens no more. Second ques

Sounds electrical, like the coil still has some voltage fed to it. The alternator, while it is still spinning, can potentially (!) feed some current to the coil with the ignition off. But with the re

PS. On my 73 roadster (stock ignition, unballasted coil) the ignition warning light comes on at full brightness as soon as I turn off the ignition and the white circuit drops to about 0.5v while the

I agree, I had the same issue, my po chopped out the ignition relay trying to fix this problem. I spent weeks testing everything, I came to the conclusion that it was either due to some electical loa

Simple calculations show that it is very unlikely that it is current through the ignition light that is keeping the engine running. The current through the ignition light is at most .2A -- that assum

True - the ignition relay certaily requires a lot less current to keep it operated and hence feed a full 12v to the coil, but I wouldn't expect this to start happening just as the temperature started
