Any reason why I should not leave a 25D distributor with points on a 77 MGB? I have no idea how it got there. The catalogs say do not replace the '77 distributor with earlier models. Why not? Curious

A Cooper S may well have had a 25D, but it is a generic code and you would need the serial number to confirm the application. The MGB had some 14 different 25Ds over the years according to year and m
