- Rick, I did that same repair once (a LOOng time ago..1972) just to fix those seals (yes, that WAS the problem, oil mileage went from about 500mi/qt to 2000mi/qt) but I would never attempt it today. J

- I rebuilt my last 260 completely stock(no hard seats) for little or nothing and was completely satisfied. Polished the crank and refitted new standard bearings....cut a minute ridge and honed for 64-
