Are you sure it is a 289? The Tiger 260 looks the same outside (3 freeze plugs and wide motor mounts). What is the casting number under the starter motor? I'm curious because my new car has a '67 28

My 1A has a 260 ( I checked the engine number) and it has V8 badges on it. I thought the 260 badges were only used on the British Alpine 260's? mBrad

The Alpine 260 badge was only used on the cars sold in England and the rest of Europe. Most, if not all Tiger MK I's came with the Powered by Ford 260 badge. Most likely the badge was changed to Sun
