Hello all, I haven'seen any reponse to this query from Jon Axt (below). I too would be interested in hearing anything anybody might have to say. In all discussions I have seen, the issue isn't addre

The 300 heads will fit the 215, 3.5 to 4.6L Rover. The main difference between the 215 and 300 Buick engines are the height and width of the block. The 300 is about 1" taller on the same degree "V"..

Curtis, Thanks for the response but it does not address the question that Jon and I have asked. That question is how to get the 215 valley cover/manifold gasket to match the intake ports on the 300

Curtis et al, The question still is whether there is a misalignment of the intake manifold/valley cover gasket that is not mentioned in any of the articles, including the March, 1985 Hot Rod Magazin

I want to put out what I see. I placed the tin valley cover against a 300 head. The 300 inlet ports are bigger, but not in a symmetric manner. The are enlarged by pushing their geometric centers outw

Did the 300 engine still use the tin valley cover? Jon /// /// buick-rover-v8@autox.team.net mailing list ///

If memory serves me correctly, no. I think the intake manifold itself seals up the valley area. Dave K. -- /// /// buick-rover-v8@autox.team.net mailing list ///

So, how does one fit 300 heads to a 215 or Rover block? I placed the 215 tin cover against a 300 head and the inlet ports don't quite line up. If you trim the tin cover you'll remove part of the seal
