Am about to receive replacement layshaft and new needle bearings for 1. I've been working on removing the old needle bearings; they are the type with the outer shell. Getting the needles out was easy

Jim, Getting the bearing shell out is a tough job and you are on the right track. Using the Dremmel will work but be careful to not nick the ID of the laygear surface as you want to maintain that tig
