- So the shifter bangs into the side of the hole in the top of the shift cover. The transmission is centered - I can't move it any to the right. What is the solution? Paul A's kit has the solution... H

- Hello James, for now, remove the shifter "can".. it's held in with four screws.. .. and enjoy the car... until you can.... modify the shift lever or what i did was buy another generic boot that fits
