Hmmm, I also suspect that if the Honda were geared for 100mph+ it wouldn't post such sprightly acceleration figures. Most modern cars sold in the US seem to be geared for jackrabbit starts and 65mph

Got a free subscription to Motor Trend magazine from a local radio station and just received their 50th anniv. issue. One interesting segment was comparing a '99 Honda Odyssey van to performance cars

There was a vast difference in car performance from the early to the late 50's. (Also in speed limits.) The TD's 0-60 in 22 sec and top end of 80 mph matched the specs of the most popular police car
