Greg I had on of those chrome fire extinquishers. I sold it to someone who had an ad somewhere on the Net a couple of years ago. I beleive (not positive though) the chemical inside was carbon tetrach

Call your local fire marshal. S/he should be able to point you toward someone who services fire extinguishers, at least you could find out if it is likely to work, if you can have it refilled, etc.

The extinguisher in question most likely contained a carbon tetrachloride solution, rated for "A" type fires( paper/wood etc,,,). Be careful NOT to come in contact with any remaining solution as som
