- I went up to BJ's Wholesale Club (like Sam's Club, or Costco, etc.) and bought the Exide Group 26 for about $34. It's a 5-year battery. There are two small tabs at the base that make it a tight fit,

- I picked up a battery carrier clamp from Harbor Freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=286); it was only a couple of dollars and makes it easy to pick up the batter

- Thanks to all who responded to my dilemma re NAPA's discontinuance of the 6v that fit the MGB battery bins. I decided to convert to single battery and try the Group 26 12V available through Walmart.
