- This is only a guess but I think that a dwell of 60 degrees would not allow the coil to recharge properly. I thouth that most four cylinders want a dwell of about 23 degrees. keep the shinny side up

- 60 degrees is precisely the right amount of dwell angle for a 4 cyl car, as dwell is how long the points are CLOSED to charge the coil. In theory, (practice always varys when you talk Lucas!) 60 degr
