That's not where the solonoid is - you just described the lockout switch (which, by the way, is the exact same switch part number for the reverse light switch on the other side of the tranny!). The

It sounds like you have a 77- trans that has the second switch installed to run the distributor vacuum solenoid valve. The switch installs in the same location the OD switch would be. Kelvin. So can

The inner fender sits on a frame rail; which sits on the front suspension, holds up the engine, and holds both to the rest of the car via the bulkhead and footwells. How is that frame rail?? Douglas

Thanks to all that responded. I looked the car over last night. Thanks to all the responses, I now know that the tranny is not overdrive. I looked at the car closer and have decided it's to far gone
