It has been suggested that I might not have the original engine in my 77 Midget. From what I know, and that is not all that much I think it is orginal. The ID number is stamped on the block above the

The F is useally used on spitfire engines,and the serial nos no spitfires are above the #4 plug I have a 1500 and the no. is on the rear of the motor. Carl E. --Original Message-- From: William M Gil

The serial number checks out alright, but the description of things (like the valve cover bolts) sounds like your PO swapped in some Spitfire 1500 parts along the way. It's the same engine, so no ha
