The fans are supposed to blow into the engine compt thru the radiator.If yours are blowing the wrong way it could be someone took them apart and put the motor housings back together 180 out.try takin

My fans ( 80 mgb ) both started squealing a few years back and from trial and error, I ended up lubing the bushings with a mix of bearing grease and graphite power and have not had a problem for year

If they are in front of the rad then they should be pushing. But a pusher fan is very inefficient because so much of the air flies off the ends of the blades rather than going through the rad. It may
