Well, he kind of has a point, but I would rather fill the tank fully so the pump runs less often. I rather like having a full tank and using the tools for long periods of time without the compressor

This is true, try pumping up a 100psi bicycle tire sometime, each push gets progressively harder as higher psi pushes back at you.
