FWIW, I had big-time ABS problems on my '95 GTIVR6 when running *either* taller or shorter R1s. If I braked just to the point of front wheel lockup at anything over ~30mph the ABS would do its thing

Someone is going to have to explain to me why a simple change in tire diameter could have any effect on an ABS car's ability to function. In the case where a larger tire were used, the system should

Agreed. Changing the sizes of different tires differently could be problematic... but if all four tires are the same size, it shouldn't matter what size they are, within reason. My ABS definitely fun
