On Sunday I finally got the TR4 on the road. Had to rebuild the hydraulics. And with all of the unexpected travel out of town due to work that task took much longer than expected. Where did the great

Could be. Personally I've only used MMO for loosening up bolts. The reason I bring up the use of ATF is that I had forgotten about the usage I mentioned in my first email until my dad mentioned that

Zempel, I regularly add 4oz of Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) per tank of gas. This was recommended by Rick Walker, a talented carb wizard here in San Diego. MMO does not boost the octane rating, rather Ri

I dont know this one. My limited knowledge of MMO is that it is a "zero-weight" oil. I've searched the web for info, and could not find any. I guess I should check the tin to see if there is a telep

I recall seeing somebody at a gas station sometime during the late 60's pouring the stuff directly into the carb. of a full size Yank Tank. He said it was to lubricate the upper valve system. I don't

I'm not sure where I got this from (real useful right?) but I've read that MMO acts as a surfactant when added to motor oil. It seems to be pretty good at dissolving dirt.... Story time: I have seve

OK, here is a variation on ATF in the petrol. A sage mechanics trick is to put a quart of ATF in with an oil change. Run for a short period of time to clean everything up. The ATF cleans all the slud

I read a while back that MMO consists of 5W oil with Oil of Wintergreen, and some kind of Zinc Dialky.... something (commonly used as an antiwear additive in motor oils and "engine treatments"). The

Just know it was around in the 40'S as a motor oil as well as a gas additive, might have been around beford the 40'S but you have to confirm that from someone younger than myself.

The direct induction of ATF in the carb is used to blast out carbon deposits from valves and cylinder, pistons and heads. This is referred to as the "quick" valve job. Sometime the ATF is mixed in a

I believe that I read somewhere that the ATF would contaminate either the oxygen sensor or cat converters in the modern car world. A can of Reslone would probably have the info on the side of it if i
