I just changed the head on my 76B and need to adjust the valves. I've seen the old "put the car in 4th gear and push it until the front rocker arm lifts off the valve stem so you can check the gap"..

You want to use the rule of 9s and when, for instance, #3 valve is all the way down, adjust #6, when #8 is all the way down, adjust #1 and so on. I can't remember the gap. They are the same for in/ex

I'll be checking mine soon too. I've got a 77B. My manual says .013 Hot,for both intake and exhaust. My Chilton manual numbers the valves 1-8 starting at the radiator and suggests this: Valve open,
