As far as I am aware, the "advance it until it pings" advice is sound. In practical terms, this should be altered to "advance it until it stops performing better", which may or may not coincide with

I have tried the advance until ping, and settled on about 25 BTDC. I = have some type of hot cam (ppo), Crane ignition, HIF-4, and tuned = exhaust. I might try going up on the advance more and see w
