If your original bonnet is popping up, unless it is bent you are going to have the same problem with a new one. Time to go back and examine the less obvious with the hood catch mechanism. kelvin.

I have used a few of them, I have had one go on perfectly and fit like a dream. On the other hand I have one on my V8 that I closed once ( by accident ) and bent it while trying to get it open again.

Assuming your latch and/or cable are not sticking and so preventing complete closing of the latch plate, try rotating the hood pin through 90 degrees as the sides that have been opening the latch as
