OK, now that I've got my air compressor, what's the group's collective wisdom on the following: 1. I prefer to run hard copper pipe with sweated connections. I've had mentioned to me to use refrigera

This has been mentioned before in this forum, and I think the conclusion was that one should not secure the compressor too well, since the normal operating vibrations will fatique the mounting legs i

I would go with the vibration pads as reccomended/specified or you may die in the warranty for mine. Picked 'em up from a local compressor installatiom company for $6. a piece- kinda like rubber lami

Carefull about air in copper. Someone else will no doubt tell you why...If not, I'll chime in. Find a local hydralic shop. The one in Albany that's usually 2x list on aeroquip stuff has 50 ft hoses f

I can't see that it'd make a lick of difference one way or the other. Go with the cheap stuff. Go for 3/8" ID hose and 3/8" fittings. The cheap stuff is 1/4", which will choke down tools that use a

Ok, now you have my interest as well. I can't see that anyone else has warned about the hazards of using copper pipe for air, so I will ask the question. Why not use either schedule M or L copper for

The primary issue is that it work hardens over time. If exposed to vibration (by connecting directly to the compressor, easy to avoid) and thermal cycling (air out of a compressor, esp with a small t

COPPER pipe work hardens, will split, explode, and kill you. IRON pipe rusts, cracks under vibration, will explode and kill you. PLASTIC pipe is eaten by horrible chemicals in the air, will split, e
