I don't understand, maybe I came in late on this, but my GT6+ can handle lights, radio, amplfier and others stock. To my knowledge the alternators are the same. Tom

Forgot to mention, if you go this route, get the GM adjusting bracket for the alternator from a junk yard. Yes, I made one for my car, but I also had the metal and welder. And it still isn't as good

LG, I think not, never had that problem with lights, radio, heater, etc., the factory unit should carry the load, check the amp hours on your battery, is it strong enough, if so then the factory alt.
