I think this is correct. I've been in a TR6 at about 6500 feet of elevation, after ascending from about 1300 feet, and no adjustment was necessary. I remember thinking that it would need readjusting,

When I drove my 74 TR6 from suburban Chicago to the VTR Convention in Boulder, there was a noticeable loss of power as we climbed higher. The autocross runs were made at a race track, and the engine

Wouldn't a higher altitude call for a leaner needle? In my flying days, I used full rich on takeoff and leaned out as I got up to altitude. Jack Radley ** While it sounds good in principle, there act

No carburettor or even fuel injection system can overcome the problem of POWER LOSS at higher altitudes. In Formula One racing, when they held races at Mexico City (over 7000 feet of elevation, corre

It ought to be leaner needles for high altitude. Less Air+same gas=too rich. Now mind you I was not saying there would be NO effect, just that it was not substantial enough to bother with. I suppose

Road down, In 1990 I drove my 6 to Boulder for the VTR and we visited Estes Park and The Rocky Mountain National Park. This was before I learned how to properly adjust the carbs. The car seemed to ru

In my attempts to retune the 6 since I returned home I discovered that I had a vacuum leak on my front carb where the vacuum line connects for the vacuum retard. The plug failed so I think THAT was t

The vacuum line I pulled off was the line attached to the "vacuum unit" on the distributor. Frankly, I don't know if that is the advance or the retard. My car is a 100% stock 76 TR6 and I don't know
