Hi John, Sounds to me as if your fuel pump quits running after you start the engine, so it dies as soon as it burns up the fuel in the float bowl(s). This would explain why it restarts after you let

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I ruled out the fuel pump being shut off by rewiring the it directly. It did not change the problem at all. I will take a look at the fuel line this weekend to

Had similar problem in my MGA. Start and check the fuel lines from the carb to the pump. When you get to the pump, is the pump warm or hot? My problem turned out to be two $1 plastic gas filters that
