The GT's choke should pull out about as far as your TF's choke does. Assuming that it is set up right (sounds as though it's not) it may pull out farther if you step on the gas at the same time you

My 73 roadster and 75 V8 pull about 1.25". Since the pull is governed by how the cable clamp has been set at the carb end, I would hazard a guess that your Mothers has been set so the choke is alway

I would think that everyone's experience would show that not pulling it out far enough usually causes choking. Sorry.
