Im sizing some injectors and the rough estimate is a BSFC of 0.65 pounds /hour per HP for a turbocharged motor, what I need to know does this hold true for methanol do I double this figure or work o

1hp of methanol is 1lb/hr. For a 4 cylinder motor with 2 injectors per cyl (I'm assuming) and 600hp you would need 8 x 94lb injectors to allow for duty cycle. I would be tempted to go bigger still o

Lorcan Parnell said "(snip...) I would be tempted to go bigger still or allow for an increase in fuel pressure (buy 94lb injectors at 40psi then you can run up to 70psi if you need to) because of the

It's a good question, and you are correct - increasing the pressure does increase the response time slightly, but within the range I gave it does not present a problem on most injectors and will prod

Lorc, thanks for the EFI information. When Rick Yacoucci had his engine on the dyno he indicated he was trying for 11,500 rpm! That would be an open time of less than 0.2 msec. I can't believe anythi

EFI systems can and do run to 20,000rpm or more. At 10,000rpm you have 12 milliseconds available to open the injector, inject fuel, close the injector (injecting every other revolution of the engine

I am sorry to say it must be your controller as i have had injectors both flowed at these duty cycles and raced with them there as well and never experienced this in the last 12 years. Dave Dahlgren

Here is the reply without the original message so it will get past the 'me too' message length filter.. The pressure problems you state are very injector specific as well as ecu specific as to the av

fuel pressure is specified as the rail pressure with key on engine off. This implies that the fuel pump is running but there are no adjustments to the rail pressure due to manifold pressure I.E.. boo
